Meet Thomas Love Broker-Owner, Belle Époque Realty Services LLC

I founded Belle Époque Realty in 2014, but my relationship with Jacksonville’s historic neighborhoods began long before that. I was twelve years old the first time I walked through Springfield, back when much of it was in serious disrepair, and saw something in those abandoned houses. A quality of craftsmanship. A proportion. A whisper of something elegant despite the decay.

I’ve been working in Jacksonville’s historic districts ever since I got my license in 2005. Riverside, Avondale, Springfield, and Ortega are among the neighborhoods I know very well. In 2025, the Mayor of Jacksonville appointed me to serve as a Commissioner on the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission, one of seven individuals charged with protecting the city’s architectural legacy.

The name Belle Époque (bell ā-poke) refers to a period in European history defined by optimism, artistic flourishing, and an extraordinary faith in craftsmanship. It was chosen deliberately. It describes exactly what I believe historic preservation is: an act of faith that beauty matters, that the past has something to teach us, and that some things are worth keeping.
